My inspiration for a new collection of ceramics often comes from travel, exploring new places and landscapes, always finding something beautiful in the abandoned and worn. The aged surfaces which fascinate me have a history behind them and a story to tell.

My current work relates to an abandoned Greek village I recently visited and creates a visual transformation of culture through colour and image, aiming to create an architectural sense of place. I work on location in pastels and pencil, further developing my sketches with paint back in the studio.

I enjoy both painting and ceramic work and like to create a connection between the two, replicating my favourite painted surfaces and colours onto clay sheets, which later become individual wall plaques.
